Sometimes you have an unused area at home which just doesn’t work, but then with a little thought and imagination it can be transformed. I have just re-focused an awkward thoroughfare in a cottage that has now become a wonderful working space, ready to evolve into a study area. But before we could start decorating, we had to sort out an old disused, blocked up window, that has been transformed into a new bespoke cupboard. Black bitumen flooring that has been converted into cream porcelain and crumbling whitewashed walls that have tuned into beautifully pattered wallpaper using Farrow and Ball. The use of some bold wallpaper, a complimentary paint colour on the new bespoke cupboard doors and a tongue and groove partition has now totally transformed this space.
